I don't mean for this to come across as a coarse reply, but Google was my best friend when I set up my first tank. It was actually good for me to read 4,5, or even 6 or more articles on a topic to ensure that I was receiving consistency of information. This is especially important when reading up on individual fish or water conditions. Not all fish are the same, so I made sure to do my homework. A set of "general" information is posted at the top of each forum subset as vinimack noted, however I would say that you definitely need to read up as much as you can find out on the internet until you've made an informed decision that you're comfortable with.
