What kind of filter do you have? If you have a HOB (hang on back) filter, you may be aerating the water enough and won't need an airpump. If you want the extra aeration, you can buy a gang valve that you hook the airline to and can adjust the flow. They are really cheap (~$2) and you can get them at most pet stores.
