I know, I know, that's not the question. I think you would go back and forth past the centre (because of the speed you would have been going) until you stopped in the centre. Like, you would keep going past on either side until the gravity pulled you back toward the centre.

Um like being on a swing. When you want to get off, you will keep swinging past the "stop point" until it finally stops where the swing sits naturally, because of gravity.
