I don't think the guppies mind what plants you keep. It would be wise to get plants that survive in the amount of light you have though....unless you are getting plastic.

Absolutely correct! The one kind of plant they won't like is the kind that's fouling the water 'cause it's dying. But if it fits your light parameters, you should be all set.
