I have 3 pairs about a year old. One pair is working on their 4th spawn, the second pair is working on their 2nd spawn and the third pair I don't think are going to do anything. In fact I'm not sure if the third "pair" is even a m/f pair. The smaller one doesn't have hardly any color and I really can't tell if it's a male or female. The dorsal fin looks long and pointed with color extending all the way to the tip but the caudal fin isn't showing the spade shape and it has the "peac0ck eye" spot on the fin like my other females. I'm beginning to think it's a hermaphrodite. lol
I'll be trading those two off soon anyway since I don't have room in the 55 gal tank for three spawning pairs.
I'll try to get some decent pics of the parents and a shot of the 30 fry in the grow out tank.
Oh here's a question for you...Have you ever heard of a female stealing and raising another females babies? I had one recently do that.
