The main problem with denison barbs is that it has been suggested that the export of these fish is highly controlled due to the fear of competition in the trade - so that many that are sold are probably all males (with hopes that some females snuck thru) - try to find a breeder already established that might be willing to sell you bonafide females (still no guarantee here) and then work from the research you have found - and good luck to you! I have 7 that are now 5 inches and full bodied (got them at about an inch long) and judging from their colors, they are probably all males - I have had sewelia river loaches and now cherry barbs breed in this tank with 2 cardinal tetras that suddenly look plump so obviously my conditions seem ripe for reproduction of some kind... I have recently been interested in finding females myself. Let me know if you have any progress please
