Well, that's what it was sold to me as (and my LFS is usually really accurate about stuff). I've read that after a few generations in captivity they tend to loose the curved snout (making them look more like
A. stuartgranti without the more prominently shaped forhead). I've compared mine to pics of
A. baenschi and
A. stuartgranti "Maleri Is." (on cichlidforum.com), and it looks more like the
A. baenschi than the
A. stuartgranti (I assume that's what you were thinking it looks more like?) to me... I'll try to get some better pics (in better lighting) when I get him moved over to the 120g.
