Yeah, it's called "use tax" Any goods that you buy online and don't pay sales tax on, you're supposed to report it on your state tax return. Or if there is a difference between the tax you were charged, and the tax you paid, (inotherwords, you pay less than your state tax rate) I believe you are supposed to report it as well. Little items don't get caught normally, but if you tried to buy a car over e-bay and didn't pay sales tax, they would hammer you for it.
