Why Vote?
I'm sure that most of you have noticed the little "vote for this site" button near the top of the page. Unfortunately, almost none of you are actually using it.
Yesterday alone we had nearly 200 visitors, but so far we've only had 27 votes for the week!
Today we've had over 60 visitors already, but only a small handful of votes added since yesterday.
So why vote, anyway? What's in it for you?
The higher we are ranked on Aquarank, the more people come to FishForums to see why. We've had well over 250 people come here from aquarank in two days, with FishForums not even being in the the top ten. We've had 9 new members sign up just today.
The more people who come to FishForums, the more will like what they see and register. The more who register, the more members we'll have. The more mebers we have, the more people will be available at any given time with expertise on any given topic. That means that whatever your question, you'll have a better chance of getting it answered with an answer you can really use. THAT's what's in it for you. If you want more people to come along who share the same interest as you in something, then VOTE. If you want more opinions on something, then VOTE. If youwant a higher number of people who can help you, then VOTE. If you just want more people around with whom you can have some fishy-forum-fun, then don't just sit there, VOTE!!!
Ah, but, you might be thinking, clicking the button is a hassle because it takes you away from FishForums.
Well, here's the solution: Just right click the button, and open the votebox on a new page. Click the "Vote for this site" link o that new page, and then kill that new page, which leaves you right back where you left off at FishForums. The whole thing takes 11 seconds.
We've been adding a lot of nifty new features, and we plan to add a lot more f them. We need more people, though, to make those new features worthwhile, so if you want a better FishForums, then please, VOTE!
Thanks!!!
