here is what i would do...
1 betta
3-4 guppies/platys/swords < chose 2 of these
3-4 mollies/swords/platies <
3-4 danios/rasoboras/minnows <
small algea eater/s, but the mollies can do a good job of cleaning algea
3-4 cory cats
and maybe a gourami or paradise fish, or another ''loner'' centerpiece fish
