Default turtles in sand?

will my turtles like it if i put sand in their tank better than their gravel...
im getting them a biger thank so if im going to change the gravel/sand im gunna do it now....
what do you guys think?

Yes, sand is great for RES. Gravel is a no-no for turts, because they'll eat it when they're big enough, and it can cause impaction. The only problem with sand is that it can mess up your filter if it gets sucked up, you might want to put a sponge pre-filter over the intake tube.

ok thankyou! i have the underwater stingray filter rite now, also witht he contained floss and charcole filer..i need help on gettin a better filter for them..my filters are keeping the tank clean and i do, do water changes but i would like one good filter...i will be going out to purchase sand this weekend for the bigger tank im getting them...
