Default Help, got a salamander tadpole

ok, so i got one for free and i dont want to flush him so i am gonna raise him. Right now he is in a little half gallon carry tank, but i have a 2.5 gallon rectangle tank for him then eventaully a bigger tank. Well i need to know how to care for him. I read to grind up flakes and maybe some lettuce. How long do they take to develop? Also how old must they be to ID them. Here are some pictures i took with my phone but they are bad because it wont focus on him. I will get some better ones up later

oh and i probly should describe him. he has a high dorsal fin. the dorsal fin starts pretty back on him. his eyes are just black spots like a guppie. he is tan with spots or dark gren. the spots are tiny and cover him and part of his tail. he has those little wing gill things behind his ears. and well, thats about it

Uh, dorsal fins? I have never in my experience with caudates heard of a tadpole having a dorsal fin. But to feed it you can give it green water, like for tiny tiny fish fry, or you can give it algae drops or something with algae on it. I use lettuce for my frog/toad tadpoles but newts don't seem to be to interested in it.

Also newly hatched brine shrimp or other small water animals like that are good, and if you live in a warm area some local pond water might have what it needs if it's very young.

Hope I helped,

That's a goby fish, I think, not a salamander baby.

Can you get better pictures? It might be easier to ID.

Just look at the reflection in the top picture. It's plainly a goby. Which goby? Heh. With over 2000 to choose from, that's one guessing game that'll take awhile indeed.

That's not a dorsal fin it's the tail running up the back of the body. Chrispy it would help if you mentioned where you got the dang thing but if I had to guess from your blurry photos my money says you have an albino clawed frog tadpole.

External gills, you say? So that thing that looks lie a high pointy dorsal fin in the reflection is really his gills?
