Boxer asked a question out of concern for the fish. Your poor attitude will not buy you any help from the members here. If that's how you want to act towards the 2000+ members here, go start your own forum and let in only people with crappy attitudes.

And by the way: You want to know something, use google. It's not our job to do your homework. If you want a real answer to your question, check the jerk attitude at the door.

i agree.
You don't buy a fish you know nothing about and then ask people to answer your questions. Wrong order. Ask, then buy if you can give the fish adequete care. How do you know if your tank is too small, or if the tank mates wont get along with with it? African leaf fish are predators with LARGE mouths. You shouldnt keep anything with it that can fit in it's mouth.
Now, if you continue to impulsh buy and do not research a fish that intrests you, you are going to have serious problems with this hobby. We cannot stress enough how you NEED TO RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING. You need to be positive that you can give the fish the right care before purchasing. Buying and then researching will not help much, because if you cannot provide the right care, you will have to get rid of the fish.

Toadstoool, it was bad that you bought a fish without knowing anything about it..ecspecially one like this.

So, now let's help out a little more instead of saying what he did is wrong, 3 people have already said this.

Leaf fish are ambush predators, usually wedgeing themselves in big plant thickets waiting for anything to swim by. Mouths are a little bigger then they're head, and can swallow fish and inverts about half the size of themselve if lucky.

If I remember correctly the type your talking about needs lower ph's.

I've never had the chance to actually get one, when I wanted one really badly a while ago they were always sold out. But my cousin had one once, pretty sneaky little things that could eat some of the biggest feeders. They're somewhat similar to leopard ctenopomas. I've kept some, and so has my cousin. They're pretty much almost alike so you could also search about them if you need help.

I don't know exactly what type of leaf fish you have, kind of guessing but here's a few links:

http://fish.mongabay.com/species/Pol...homburgki.html

http://www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/Fishindx/leaffish.htm

And yes, I don't have much to do at the moment lmao, that's why i'm searching some of this for you. Hopefully i'm getting the type right. There are a few types of leaf fish, and a few "false" leaf fish.
So i'm just going to give you some general links lol.

African Leaffish /Polycentropsis Abbreviata . I will call him Leafy.
he is about 1.5" and I have him a 6gal.Eclipes with Goby and a chiniese algea eater I will be getting a 12gal this weekend and after it cycles I will move them in if Leafy gets way to big I will find him a new home .
I tried flake food and frozen brine shrimp yesturday but he would not eat so I tried flakefood again today and he eat all I put in . So goby has a tank mate and they seem show some strange behavor they sit on the bottom of the tank side by side or sometime Leafy will sit on top of Goby and they just sit there.

Wow was all that really necessary? Information and help is what these sites are for. He bought the fish, and in my opinion, was honest in his response. He didn't call anyone a jerk or hastily judge anyone's attitude based on an emotionless text-based response.

Moving on, the leaf fish needs a ph between 6 and 6.5 and temperatures around 78-82, but will do ok in a ph up to 7 and temps up to 86 or so. And like others have said, they disguise themselves as a leaf and prey on feeder fish.
