Default Help choosing fish.

I have a new 75g tank that will be cycled with Bio-Spira, and there will be no live plants. Water conditions are: roughly 13dGH & 14dKH, roughly 8.0 pH.
So far I'm considering:
6 Australian Rainbow (3 male, 3 female)
2 Blue Gourami (1 male, 1 female)
1 Krib
6 Swordtail (2 male, 4 female)
1 Cherry Barb
1 Redtailed Black Shark OR 1 Rainbow Shark

What other fish do you suggest?

1 cherry barb? They aren't really schoolers, but 1 is just kind of wierd, maybe you could get a trio.

That's pretty hard alkaline water. You may be able to get a lot of fish to do okay in it but have you thought about going with fish which prefer those conditions?

the PH is just a tad high, you can lower it wth some bogwood if you wanted, or your gonna have to add some fish that like the high ph.

you'll need more than 2 gouramis, or just one. they'll get on each others nerves after a while, but 3-4 will even it out.

get some cories for the bottom, or another catfish/es
Either scratch the one cherry barb, or get 3 mininum, a 75 gallon is large enough for the fish wanted.

Don't add cories if you get either of the sharks. RTBS I know are territorial and would have problems with your cories. Not sure about the rainbow shark though. I'm guessing it is about the same way.

In a tank that big, I'd go with loaches instead of the sharks or cories. Yoyos, polka dots, kuhlies, and zebra loaches are all good choices. They may like a lower pH though.

I agree about the cherry barbs. Don't just get one. I'd get atleast a trio (1m/1f). In a 75g you could have 6 and they would be very happy.

If the rainbows are the only school you want, I'd up it to 8 or 10. Or add another type of rainbows. Bosemani rainbows are beautiful.

Don't add all the fish at once though. I know the Bio-Spira "instantly" cycles the tank, but I'd still be careful and add them a little at a time. I'm not sure how hardy rainbows are but they are expensive in my area and I'd hate to lost all of them because of some ammonia that developed.

From what I've heard, if you don't add a lot of fish soon after using Bio-Spira the bacteria could start dying off.

No, you don't have to add a lot of fish. Just some fish. Something to keep feeding the bacteria so it doesn't die off. But if you add too many at once, the bacteria won't be able to keep up and you'll get a mini cycle anyway.
