I'm getting a 10 gallon for my birthday next week and I was wondering if I could put my 6 harlequins and 2 peppered cories in it(after I cycle it, of course), or if that would be too much.
Also, if it is ok to do that.... would the following stock list be ok for my 55... 8 skirt tetra (4 black, 4 white) 8 - 10 bloodfin tetra 8 albino cories 1 male betta 1 pleco (the common one I have now is going to a new home in a couple weeks, and I want to replace him with some sort of albino bristlenose as soon as I can find one.) Ghost Shrimp (how many?) Thanks for reading, Lasha

I personly would not put cories in a 10G.
As for the bigger tank I would not put a pleco in. Most plecos usualy 10''+ and they create quite a bit of waste. I'm not sure about the shrimp.... The stocking list sounds pretty good to me, but JOM always gives a pretty good stocking list, that is also appealing to the eye. |

One Word: Croutons.

If you want ghost shrimp, let them establish before putting fish in the tank- otherwise they'll be eaten. If you just throw them into a tank stocked with fish they'll get picked to death. But, i'm not the greatest with stocking suggestions.

If you really want a pleco, go for a fancy variety. I love the royal, they're very beautiful and would go nicely in a 55 gallon. A clown pleco would also be great. You will need driftwood in the tank for these though, as they need to eat it for digestion.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I kinda thought it would be too small for the cories... I'll leave them where they are.
Perhaps I'll put the harleys and the betta in the 10. Then I wouldnt have to worry about the skirts stressing the betta out. They get along for the most part, but the skirts get extra nippy right before dinner time.

yeah, the cories wouldnt work in the ten gallon, because cories are schooling fish, so they need to be in groups of at least 4-5 or more and a ten gallon cant support that sized school
