Default Neon tetra disaease

I carefully quarantined and slowly built a school of 25 neon tetras. The last batch I added were quarantined for two weeks prior to introduction only to find that 3 weeks is a much better quarantine time. Neon tetra disease slipped in with the last bunch and now they are all gone.

Does anyone know how much bleach to add to a 55 gallon tank to sterilize the tank? How about my pleco and oto cats? They are fine. Is there any particular quarantine procedure to get them back in safely?

Thanks

If you want to use neons or other tetras in this tank again, then you'll have to do something drastic. Otherwise, this disease is fairly harmless to most other fish.
The amount of bleach you would need to do the job is going to be too much for the other fish to handle, so you might as well tear it all down, clean it all up, and start all over again. It sucks, I know, but neon disease is on the rise bigtime, and it's one of those things we are all going to HAVE to quarantine for from now on.
One of these days some medical doctor is going to figure out how to cure this problem in an affordable and practical way, and I sure hope he hurries up. There are treatments available, but so far they are horrendously expensive and not reliably effective.

Interesting that NTD is on the increase.
I have read about it but have not seen it.
On the other hand my friend has a platy I bred and gave her that developed a white discoloration on its back overnight. Do you have any idea what that is called? The fish died a couple of weeks later. None of mine from the same batch ever got the problem.
I have seen quite a few fish in different stores with these white skin blotches.
I think leprosy but I guess fish don't get that.
