how big is the algae compared to the fish?
Do the fish tolerate salt in the tank?
Don't know the answers- just thinking for you.

Mollies and such would benefit... and I would suppose if other fish ate it, they certainly wouldn't die from it... a variety is always best you know. Wouldn't be a staple for your fish though.
