We've had a 10-gallon freshwater tank for over a year now and decided to add real plants. The guy at the fish store said to just add in the substrate (about half the bag) and then put the plants in. We have 2 tetras and 2 tiger barbs. The guy didn't mention rinsing the substrate, so in his excitement my husband dumped some in before rinsing. So right now it's so cloudy you can't see through the tank, and we don't know if we should try siphoning the water? Is there anything to do but wait for it to settle (and will this take days)?
Thanks for any help!! |

The filter should remove the debris the rest will settle in the gravel again.

I agree. If you would make you feel better, you could change some water. Most of it will just have to settle.

That's just extra plant food floating around, in effect, so I say leave it alone for a few days and let it vanish on it's own.
