Default I think

I think that my tank has cycled. But I am not sure I used some test strips and it said Nitrate 0, Nitrite 0,total hardness is soft, Alkalinity is about 120, and the pH is between 6.5 and 7.2. It says it is in a ideal range. If you could hurry please I want to stock tank with some plants and some Dwarf Gourami's and some plants. And it is a 10 gallon tank. As of now I do have one Dwarf Gourami. But he needs to get out of the tank he is in a 1 gallon.

For a tank to cycle, you must introduce ammonia. The article that BV77 has provided the link to shouldl give you all the information you need. If you have any questions about it, feel free to post back.

You need to have some nitrates for the tank to be considered cycled. Read the article BV posted to learn more. Good info from Dr. House too.

Also, I'd only put one dwarf gourami in a 10g, unless you can find females. Then a trio (1m/2f) would work.

In a 10g, you are kind of limited. But you could have a small school of fish. Harlequin rasboras are small enough for a 10g. You could have 6 of those along with the gourami.

Sweet I just looked them up. I like them. So what kind of plants do you think I should get. I am upgrading my lights today. So they will be good for all plants the LFS said.
