Default Conditioning tap water

What is the best way to condition tap water?

Right now i use about 1/10 capfull of Aqua Plus per gallon i am conditioning.

How long does it take the aqua plus to work after being added to the tap water? could i put the water in right after the aqua plus is added or do i have to wait overnight?

Thanks any advice is appriciated

Conditioning chemicals work on contact, so you don't need to wait overnight, you just need to have the conditioner completely dispersed in the bucket. If you add it before the water, it should disperse as the bucket fills. If you add it top, let it sit 15 min.

Default Conditioning

If you have the time and patience what you can also do is distil the water, in which case you boil the water, let it cool to room temperature before adding to the tank. Do that before you even start to clean the tank out, this way your fish won't have to wait very long, and yes I agree with Emc make sure to put the conditioner in before adding water or even at the top which your fish will need to be climatized for twenty minutes before being put back in the tank. Hope I could offer some advise, I distil my water cause the fact our pipes have burst alot, and been replaced so the conditioner wouldn't help with the excess chemicals.

that's not distilling, distilled water is water that has turned into vapor and back into water. also, by boiling it you remove oxygen from the water-very bad idea!
