Default WaterWonders 3g AquaCube?

My 5g Walmart brand Hex broke after only 2 months! They didn't have any more ( they were selling them off when i bought it ) So I ended up getting this..

http://www.tetra-fish.com/sites/tetr...=1276&cid=3259

Right now I have 3 otos in the 5g hex with a CF 15w light in it. All my plants died off, But I was hoping to get some plants in there again.

MY questions are - Does anyone own one of these? are they good / bad / fair. Should I just take it back now?
It claims the lighting is LED. Does LED grow plants?

Thanks for your advice in advance!

IMO.....anything under a 10 gal should be considered a dog's water bowl......heck a 10 gal tank is only $10 at walmart....why go smaller than that?

No Otos in a 3g for sure and really, they don't belong in a 5g either. Might want to take them home and get atleast a 10g.

10gallons are cheap,
10$ for the tank at petsmart
15$ for a heater 50-100w
from there you can choose mechanical or sponge filter either one works if you know what your stocking, might be 20$
there so for 45$ you have a 10g tank that will hold your otos, and some guppies or something smallish and not super active

In my experience, kits are a breeding ground for evildoery! You usually spend more for stuff that isn't as good and nobody likes that! I don't know if I would use a 3 gallon for a dog's water bowl. I mean, that seems pretty expensive, but I think it would be super cool for a betta! I really wouldn't keep anything else in there though.

As far as plants, some petite anubias nana might do well in there. Anubias and cryptocorene (I probably spelled that wrong) will both do well regardless of the type of lighting.
