Default Tankmates aggression... when to worry?

I introduced 2 new fish today. Supposedly both Bolivian Rams, although I think one doesn't quite look like a BR (may be a young blue acara?) Anyway, the supposed BA is harassing the BR. Is it likely to settle down once they get used to their new surroundings, or is this a sign of things to come? If so, I'll get rid of the aggressor as soon as possible. Thanks!

Welcome veritas47,

Well the aggression is going to be related to territory. The best way to get an indicator is going to be tank size. So if you could, tell us the size of your tank, and if you have any caves and such.

Right. 20G tall, with 6 existing lemon tetras. A few artificial plants, driftwood cave and small flower pot. If it is a blue acara, its full size is likely too big to be comfortable in the tank anyway. Maybe I should just take it out now.

If it is, I would go ahead and return it. Two Bolivians can co-exist in a 20, if they are a pair. However, two males will fight constantly. I have two males in my 55 for the longest time, and they still would fight over territory.

When to worry,When you make a post about it.The 20 high doesnt have as much floor space as a 20 long, which goes back to what clerk says about territory.I agree with hat clerks saying.Return the fish would be your best bet.
