Okay I have decided to get 3 more head and tail tetras, along with 3 more rummy nose to bring those species up. My question is this, my head and tail are bigger now, how do I go about finding ones that are roughly the same size, or will it matter?
After what happened with the cardinal tetras, I learned a valueble lesson that I don't want to repeat. Time to bring up the same species.

I'm glad you decided to increase the schools. Honestly, just look in the tank at your LFS and tell them you want some larger ones.

If you can't find similar size tetras, then just get small ones. They may get chased a little, but they shouldn't be killed or anything dramatic like that. H&T tetras are pretty playful, so expect chasing in any newcomers.
I recommend you choose 2 schools out of your current stock and bring those up to 8. Your fish will be much happier that way and won't give you problems like you've been seeing. Since the Rainbows are not playing nice, they'd be a good candidate to go, as well as the Danios, which you only have 2 of. The Black Skirts should go as well. Its hard giving up fish, but atleast you'll be doing the right thing for the fish you keep.

FISH ARE FREINDS NOT FOOD
|
first of all take a trip to your store and talk to them on their policy on returning fish, most will take them for store credit though some will only take them for free
to return them, first of all get a couple of plastic bags they use in the shop, they might give you a couple. next fill it about a third with water. catch the fish and put them in ( if the fish are small ,less than 2cm, you may want to sellotape the corners up) inflate the bag the same way you see the shop do it and the tie a tight knot in the top hope this is in someway helpfull -olie
