Default Ich UGH!

Although I have owned tanks for five years, I thought this might be the best place to post.

I have two neon dwarf rainbows who suddenly showed signs of Ich last week. I gave them a 5 minute salt bath with a little Rid - Ich mixed in. All Ich signs disappeared. Today, four days later, one is again showing two Ich 'granules'.

We are on well water which contains Ammonia. I have to neutralize it using Prime, so my ammonia and nitrite readings are always wonky, though nitrate is 5. I am doing a water change tonight. I do a 35% water change once a week.

The tank contains three upside down cats, guppies, and the dwarf neons. Am I best treating the whole tank (35 gal) or moving the fish to a hospital tank, currently housing young guppies, and treating them there. I'm a little concerned for my upside down cats as I'm not sure how well they do with meds.

Thanks in advance for any help.

"treat the water, not the fish."

that was the the key take-away for me from everything i've read on here.

Yes, its best to just treat the whole tank, since ich can live in the water as well.
