Default Quick ?

I'm sure this has been addressed before, and I can't find the thread I was wanting to ask in.... I spent about 30 minutes looking, so I thought i'd be annoying and bring it up again...lol.

Can you only use aquarium salt? Or is there something else you can buy to use? I thought about putting a little into my betta's water, but the fish store just had huge bags.

what do you mean? only use it for what? dont use table salt, apparently the iodine they use in it isnt good for fish.

http://www.fishforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4200 is a thread about it.

I use rock salt - the kind you make ice cream with - you can also use kosher salt as it has no additives. Table salt, besides having iodine, also frequently has sugar added, and other chemicals.

However, I wouldn't use any salt for a betta.

OK I guess I'll not put in any salt right now. I keep hearing a bunch of people say to use salt, and a bunch more saying not to.

People use it to help heal torn fins and things like that, but I wouldn't use it all the time.
