A cycle can take 4-6 weeks...with only two fish, you have a light bioload on the tank so it may even take longer. I'd say just start a regular water change program of about 4 gal per week....maybe a bit sooner if amonia or nitrite rise too much. Let the cycle take care of itself.

A few more wouldn't hurt, as danios like to be kept in groups. Then when the tank cycles , maybe consider some corys as bottom fish. They will scour up any left over food the danios don't eat. Corys also like to be in small groups. Add the fish over a period of time, though and the cycle will work itself out as long as you maintain regular partial water changes.

I didn't see nitrites in my tank until 5 weeks with a fish-in cycle. Hang in there, it'll happen :D

Get cheap comet goldfish. Since they are dirty dirty fish, it will speed up the cycle process. They are also really hardy and inexpensive. When your done cycling them, give them to someone who has a pond or put them on craigslist for free.

I would temp house the 2 Danios until it's done cycling. They are small fish and the ammonia spike might kill them.
