Question about identity of a fish
Greetings, this is my first post on fish forum. I am a long time recreation freshwater fish owner. I have a question about a fish that I adapted couple years ago. I have attached pictures for viewing. It is a freshwater type, loves to play and swim around. Not carnivorous. I feed him(or her) mostly flakes. Anybody know what it is? The reason I ask is I am thinking about moving it into my backyard pond and just wondering if it could survive the winter like the Koi? Thank you for everybody's inputs.

You will want to host your photographs on something like Photobucket, then copy the [img] code and paste here. That will show your pics quite nicely.

That is a type of gourami and if I'm not mistaken they are tropical/warm water fish, so I would not leave it out in the winter.

Definitely a gourami. Would not survive outdoors at all. Prefers water temp. of 78-80 degrees. Nice looking fish!
