Default What to do with aggresive fish

Okay I need help. I have 2 very agressive gouramis. I can't put them in my 29 gallon tank. Right now they are being isolated in two 2.5 gallon tanks, because I have nowhere else to put them. I can't give them back to the Fish store. I can't give them away. And I can't sell them. I think the only thing I can do is either kill them or flush em down. I know it sounds so cruel, but I can't do anything else. I have no more room. Please Help.

We asked the pet store. They won't take em back cuz we've had em longer than 15 days. I had em with guppies, 2 weather laoches, and 2 plecos at the time ( 1 pleco and 1 weather loach have passed since then =( ) They were aggresive towards each other and the bottom dwellers and the guppies.

were they in the tank first or last or in the middle... adding them to a new tank last will lower aggression

oh... when you went to take them back... did you make it seem like you wanted money in exchange?? maybe you should just ask them to take it off your hands, and with no money in exchange (if you did that)... cuz i dont see why the fish store would turn down the chance to resale a fish and make more money, that just doesnt make since to me!

no one i know has a fish tank. I added em in the middle. after the bottom dwellers and some guppies. my LFS just doesn't want aggressive fish. I had to tell the truth. I couldn't lie and say "uh....these fish have no problems. i'm just returning em" so what should i do? now i have 6 neons 4 guppies, 1 weather laoch and 1 pleco and 1 molly. I don't want to add them and risk it. I've tried that, and they murdered two guppies. I've even tried it with just one.oy

an lfs not wanting aggressive fish??? HAHAHAHAH... if they sell em' then they should take em' back. All larger gouramis are aggressive, but go well with appropriate space and tank mates. If they don't take them back, but they take other fish back thats BS. There is always someone with a tank that could use a gourami SOMEWHERE.

i would take em if i could!... just to save them! lol.... ive never heard of a fish store turning down a fish... you could tell them another fish was picking on it? if they dont want agressive fish... but like i said... they atleast have a chance at the petstore... so its worth another try... or you could take them to some other store and tell them you just cant take care of the fish and would appreciate it if they would take it off your hands... and that it is healthy as far as you know

i dunno... anything is better then killing the poor things

seriously, if an lfs won't take your fish but takes others... find a different place... they obviously don't understand the business very well, and they don't understand the fish they sell.

Well they may think the fish should be back with disease... however, LFS here agree to take them back with lowwer refund. So what now, Baby? Any solution?

my LFS won't take fish back after 15 days. It has been more than 15 days. There is no solution. One of em is sick, and I bet they're both stressed. I hate to just watch em die from stress. oy.
