hi
I would like to know what fish i can put in my tank, it is a 48" X 18" X 14" i am not sure what to do, either i take out my 5 tiger barbs or leave them in and put some thing more interesting in it that has some movement. i want fish that will play with each other but wont kill thats y i think i might get rid of the barbs ?? but i am not sure what i want to do if any one has any ideas that would help thanks. i have 6 snails as well thanks |

well barbs won't kill things if you stick to more aggressive fish. but if you get rid of the barbs I'd suggest some of the following fish
12 pack of Neon Tetras or Harliquin Rasboras 10 Cory catfish 1 Powder blue Gourami or Flame Gourami 5-7 Marble Hatchetfish (if you keep your parameters in check) or Red Minor Tetras Just a few suggestions

how about something like that will i be able to keep the barbs

I would lose either of the loaches and replace them with more Tiger barbs. That'll make sure the barbs have enough things to keep them busy without pestering the other fish. Alternately I'd lose all the loaches and get a second school of some different kind of barb.
I'd also lose either set of bristlenoses, but keep the others. If you get gouramis, make sure they're a M/F pair, and know that even then it won't guarantee that they'll not kill each other. Be sure to quarantine your new fish in something else before putting them into your tank. It would be a shame to get a disease after all that planning. |
