I'm so sorry!!!
I had Ich a couple of months ago... all my fish survived! And now i have it again, too! Though, it's getting better after two days, so fingers crossed!
Also.. i noticed one of my NEW MOLLIES has a fungal diesease.. and one of his eyes is slightly white-ish! Grrrr!!!!!!! LOL
Not to mention one of my neons has "vanished" (no sign of him when i cleaned out the filter!)
Fish life, eh? lol

Yeah, that should be no problem. I'd get some treatment ASAP. Do frequent water changes, put the temp up... (Whitespot cannot handle hot temp), i'm not saying fry your fish, just warmer... And then get some treatment! And everything should be fine,
Good Luck.

I'm not really much of an expert when it comes to filtering and stuff
But i do know about diseases.
Have you tried any treatment, yet?
Sometimes some aquarium salt can help as well.

You can either take those super-tough plants out of the tank and put them into some separate container while treating the fish with normal meds,
OR
you can try one of these super-new meds which are safe for plants, if you can find them today,
OR
you can just crank the temperature up to 85 and watch it disappear.
It won't be cured, but it'll be knocked down & manageable.
No salt.

My suggestion is the first one.

Java fern and moss can handle salt, ecspecially if it's just aquarium salt.

Like they said just raise the temp up to 86 degrees and wait. You can add an ich medication after a couple of days but there no real need to. Almost all ich medications only treat the free swimming stage of ich and wont have any real effect on the already attached ones. If you do try medication wait until the cysts pop so you can kill the newly hatched ones.

But I still say taise the temp up and wait. No salt, doesn't really do a thing.
