ok first i would like to ask you about PH test kits, which do i get? i was looking at one the other day and it said measures ph FROM 7.4-8.4, should i get it? what if my PH is lower? will it still measure a PH lower than it?
next question, how can i lower the PH? thanks!! |

That was a high range PH test kit you were looking at - they make a test kit that tests from 6.0 -7.4 - depending on what type of fish you plan to keep - more than likely you will want the lower range kit. there are natural ways to lower PH such as adding driftwood - the best thing to do it to first find out what range your water source is, what type fish, etc. I reccomend that you never use the PH up and PH down chemicals as they only work for a short period of time and cause your PH to bounce around which is not good for the fish.
