I have been reading about cycling a new tank with out fish and adding chemicals and what not for a few weeks. But my question is, If I was to get a larger tank could I use the gravel and filter out of my old 10 gallon tank to help jumpstart the new tank? If so would I still need to do the cycle stuff? I would like to get a 30 or so gallon tank to replace the 10 gal as of right now.
Thanks Jim S. |

Absolutely that would be a good choice, however though I would still get some Bio-Spira.

Yes, you can use the substrate and filter to jumpstart the new tank. biospira may be illegal where you live. Seachems stability is the next best choice
