Hi, I just got my betta about two weeks ago and i moved it from the cup to half a gallon to a one gallon tank. He is very active in his 1G tank and he blows alot of bubbles, but I am not sure if it is enough. Should I upgrade to a 2.5 - 5 G tank?
If you can find a tank at Petsmart that would be much appreciated. (please keep it under 50 dollars) |

I have one of mine in a 1 gallon, and he seems perfectly happy. There is much disagreement on what exactly a betta *should* be in. My personal opinion is that a gallon is the minimum size I'd ever want a betta in. I have two other bettas, a male in a 2g and a female in a 5g and both of them seem quite happy as well. The female especially has really colored up beautifully.
The less gallons, the more water changes. I do 2 50% wc's and 1 100% wc per week on the 1g. The 2g tank just gets a weekly vacuuming and top up of about a half gallon. If you are happy and your betta is happy and healthy, that is what matters. |
