Ok so I bought a vinegar eels started culture on thursday and on saturday I transferred it into a larger container with a 50/50 apple cidar vinegar and treated water mix with some grated apple and a little apple juice and now i;ve noticed a weird whiteish film on the surface and can't see any eels anymore... I think i've killed them all..but lucky for me I was smart enough to transfer some to a smaller container (that has no apple in it, just a little juice) and the ones in there are still alive. So what I'm asking is should I just ditch the large containers worth and start again with the small amount that is there? and what did I do wrong? I did everything that I've read to do.. I can't work it out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated PS I heated up a knife and made some large slits with it in the lid...so there was air getting in...just incase anyone thinks I might have suffocated them

That film is likely the vinegar eels at the top of the liquid. Just give them a few days.

Yeah, crap what I said.. I got the container under the aquarium light and swirled it a little and they all came streaming down from the surface. There's still a heap in there! thanks for your reply though.
