I'm sure between poor eyesight and poor memory, I'm missing the thread about this.
Regardless. Of the 15 people at work who vowed to be devoted betta parents, who all received a 1 gallon bowl with gravel and a live plant, and were strongly admonished not to over feed, on Tuesday. How's that for a twisted sentence? They are all still alive. Rav is jumping up and down, fist pumping, looking around for someone to high 5. I stopped by work today, Sat, they are all kickin'. Ok so I did partial wataer changes on 4, but still. I haven't lost one yet. Cut me some slack, you give a fish to 17 idiots and see how long they stay alive. I've already dealt with an asshole who thought he'd point out food shouldn't be left near the bowl cuz someone would pour have the contents in teh bowl. Then proved the point. Which wasn't near so bad as the fish owner not realizing she really should get it out of the bowl. "Oh," said she, which ****************ed head and look of innocense, "he can't just eat it over the next 6 months?" Arghghgh, Now you see why I'm happy all d' fish are happy. Rav |

Read up? I babysit 170 adults in a multimillion $ corp for a living. They aren't going to read up on a fish in a bowl. What I did was add to my teams duties, taking care of 17 bettas. I gotta a couple people that are savy, other than that we're on the hook for water changes, trying to teach them feeding, or teaching them not to over feed.
I still got all 17 alive. I got 5 complete water changes up for tomorrow, which will max out my water supply. Then some partials. It makes the people happy, I'm working on keeping the fish happy and healthy. It's a fun project. However I'm dealing with the a crowd of 20 somethings who're like, when they're in a bar, "It's so cool, I got a fish at work." I'm sure some of the single guys work it into a pick up line. "Wanna come see my fish? His name is BigGuy. He sure knowss how to wiggle it." The fish are like new employees. I gotta take care of them, and make sure they fit in. Rav |
