I moved my betta boy from a 1.5 gallon bowl into a +- 3 gallon tank yesterday. When I had a look at him this morning he was hanging out at the bottom not really moving. He ate his flakes this morning with no problem, but he just seems a little off. I used water conditioner and followed the same proceedure as always. He used to hang out at the top of his bowl but now he is just lying on the gravel.
He swims around now and again but just seems off. He is currently hanging out on the plants. What could the issue be? Do you think he is feeling a little exposed? Should I get him a hiding place? |

Yes, get him a live plant he can curl up in, and maybe a tank mate, say a male platy. Just stay away from fish with long pretty fins, he will get jealous and think they want his space.

Is the tank not a little small for another fish? I will google a platy and have a look see. He has live plants at the moment. I was thinking a little cave or some drift wood for him to hide away in.
