Default Constipated (?) Violet Goby

My name is Arn. Almost two years ago, me and my girlfirend Amber rescued two 3-4" violet gobys from WalMart. They have lived and prospered in an 80 gal communal fresh water tank since. One has been almost a foot long for at least a year, the second stayed a runt for a long time, but within the last 6 months, his appetite has increased and it to is putting on length.

About 3 weeks ago, we decided to rescue two more 3-4 inch Violette Gobies from Walmart.

Last week, we noticed that one of the new gobys was bloated and lethargic, so we put it into the isolation tank. The other new goby seems absolutely fine. The sick(?) goby is very bloated, and we diagnosed constipation, and have been feeding him brine shrimp and daphnia (sp?) for about 4 or 5 days now.

You can see, under its skin, some of its innards, and what appears to be a digestion tract rinning along its body on both sides. You can clearly see darker objects that could be, say 2mm objects, in a constant state of motion back in forth in this tract. I cannot tell if the objects stay seperate, pellet like, or if its like feces and merges together, I cannot see that clearly. I was just looking at it... you can see the stuff moving back and forth, like the fish is really pushing, trying to get it out. I have seen this several times over the last couple days. You can see the movement of skin pulsing in areas along the tract.

So, does this sound like an extremely constipated fish, does it sound like a parasite, does it sound like reproduction (I can find pretty much nothing on reproduction except that its extremely rare).

Any Ideas?

Arn
