Default Anyone know anything about Neovespicula depressifrons (Dusky Panther Goby)?

Been looking around for interesting fish to put into my tank (My two dragon gobbies are MIA - I think they've become treats to El Guapo - my stonefish).

I know at least that they are wasp fish. Has anyone kept them? Keep them?

Not a lot of info out there about them.

Just curious.

Their survival rate isn't usually the greatest to begin with. A higher end brackish fish that does better in smaller tanks devoted to it unless kept with similar sized fish.
You either get a fish that eats everything (frozen, live, etc.), one that eats live food rarely, or one that doesn't go after anything offered. Of the ones I kept- most wouldn't even eat to begin with. If your planning on keeping it with a stonefish, in a larger tank, it won't last long. Unless you have a smaller tank in the 10g range, i'd leave them alone.
As a note, they do have "venom", but only in the three first dorsal spines. I've even picked them up before without getting stung. People allergic to bee stings would of course be more weak to the sting, but others say it feels like an excruciating burn.

Thanks Flamingo, thats seems to be the info I'm finding.

I guess I'll have to be resigned to not being able to pair anything that will live near the bottom near El Guapo
