I have two glassfish and 3 bumblebee gobies in a brackish 10 gallon. I'd like to find a companion that would eat what these fussy ones miss, or won't pick up. They were originally in a larger tank, but I had to down size due to moving constraints.
I'm hoping to find something that would hoover the bottom, but not the fish. Is there anything for this size? I did have sailfins, but can't go through the fresh to brackish acclimatization process at the moment. I was also thinking of adding a few more bumblebees in the distant future. Thanks, Rose |

flounder wouldn't be a great choice for a tank that size... I'd stick with the crabs or possibly some salt tolerant snails.

The crabs are a no-go too. They'll go after the gobies.

I think fiddlers would work though... Mine have never been that aggressive.

After I posted I thought of the same thing. I'd stick to females, they have smaller claws and are more timid than males which would attempt to establish territories, show off their big claw, etc.
Get one fiddler female and see how she fares. In a 10g you can have 2. But for a clean-up crew ... I dunno. They are messy eaters. Why not some acclimated ghost shrimp? Would the gobies and glass fish be a threat to them? They sure as heck would be a lot more efficient and dilligent at eating the small leftover food. With the fiddlers you also want to make sure you have a spot outside the water where they can dry off.
