Default Dragon Goby

I just recently bought a dragon goby and two mollies. From the site of aqualandpetsplus.com, I learned that the goby tends to prefer brackish water, and the mollies can withstand saltier water. I've had them in the same tank for a few hours, and they don't appear to be bothering each other. Is it okay to keep them together indefinitely?

Edit: Can anyone tell me exactly what kind of salt is used for brackish tanks? (I know nothing like table salt)
Would aquarium salt work, or would I need to buy something else? I am going up to Petsmart tomorrow, so I hope to know sometime before we leave so I know what to get.
If anyone can help, that'd be amazing.

DG dont have very good vision.I keep mine with smaller fish with no problem. They do tend to get picked on alot.I dont really see mine a whole lot only to come out with the lights out.I was given this after a friend bought it not knowing about it not being a brackish fish.I wouldnt keep it in fresh water if thats what you plan on doing cause he or she will get sick fast(I do know of someone that has keep one in fresh water with no problems but not somthing I would do.)I have seen it happen with the fish I have now

Mollies can live in fresh, brackish and salt water.

They will be perfectly fine with a dragon goby.

The Dragon Goby is definitely going to need more than a 5 or 10g tank. They are said to get 2 feet long in the wild, but probably wouldn't get quite that large in an aquarium. They probably hit around 12" though, so you'll want atleast a 3ft tank for it, if not bigger. Skip the 10g and shoot for something in the 40g range for now.

Here are some pics I found of a 2ft DG that lived in an aquarium and was actually kept in freshwater (though I wouldn't recommend it): http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.u...read.php?t=317. That is one huge fish.

To make a tank brackish, I believe you need marine salt.

Get a little box of Instant Ocean. That will do perfectly.

Jeez yeah I didn't even see the size of your tank.

You'll need at least a 40-55 gal for that dragon goby when it gets longer.

If he's only 5" now, you might get away with a 40, but even then you can still add more mollies

I don't have a whole lot of money. If I can get my hands on a 30 gallon, I'd be happier. It's a very slow process and all, and I hate it to be. We're going up to look today, actually. I'll check some out. Of course, I still have to make room for things like some plants and food.. But I'll make it work.
