Another puffer question
Sorry guys, last question about my green spotted puffer.
On this forum i've heard people saying you should give them snails? to sharpen their teeth and stuff...
My puffer is only a baby I guess i mean he is not even an inch big yet
so shoud i continue giving him just flakes or get a snail O_O?

Nope, you need to feed them hard shelled food to ware down their beak, otherwise they will overgrow and not be able to eat unless you trim their beak. I find that snails and crayfish work good for me. They need to be fed hard food at least once a week, if not more often.

Go out and get around 100 snail from eBay and just 20 in his tank the others tryand breed them so you don't have to breed them again O and one more thing flake food sucks they need live food and good blood worms go buy some gvh it works good I and if that's your puffer in the pic it look really bad get it fat flake food is not going to help him he'll get sick and die

we bought snails from ebay and now we have tons of them, it's a worthwile investment instead of buying a few every week.

Puffers love snails! Ask your LFS for free snails. I get them there all the time, loads of them. The girl always looks at me funny-lol-because she throws them away.

I've read that snails being fed to puffers need to be at least the size of their eye balls. Is this true?
