I have an extra 15 gallon tank, and I’m pondering doing brackish to keep Mollies in.
I’ve read that brackish, in the wild, actually fluctuates in how much salinity is in it. So do I really need one of those hydrometer things? I’m sure I wouldn’t want to go too salty or too fresh, especially all at once. But if I put in the same dose of salt with every water change, I figure that would be safe from dramatic changes if I measured my salt carefully and exactly the same every time. I also would like to have a couple Pea**************** Gudgeons/Goby. Though I’ve read different articles on if they’re brackish or not. I guess it would survive in brackish, but I’d rather it be happy and healthy, rather than just “getting by”. Anybody know the true environment for Pea**************** Gudgeon (Tateurndina ocellicauda)? Both the Mollies and the Pea****************s get about 2 or 3 inches. So if I had 2 male mollies, 3 female mollies and a pair of Pea****************s, I hope that wouldn’t overcrowd the tank too much.
