Question Difficulty

Is a brackish tank very hard to maintain? Compared to a salt tank and a fresh tank how hard is it? It can't be as hard as salt, but how much harder than fresh is it (is it just a matter of keeping the salt level right?) Just wondering...

What do you mean? harder to maintain the salt levels? from water change to water change the salinity will change, but brackish water fish are built to deal with changes in concentrations of salt, and their kidneys should adapt quickly. lets say you want a 10 gallon brackish tank, and 2 table spoons per gallon will get it to the right specific density (not sure how exactly much salt per gallon, just a figure) then you'd replace 2 gallons weekly. before adding the 2 gallons back to the tank just dump in 2 tbsp of salt and let it disolve, that should keep you around the same specific density, but a hydrometer would help with keeping it at the right level. PH usually has to be higher too, but marine salt should raise your PH quite a bit.

Right, backrish creatures live in the place where the stability of the water changes rapidly as the tidal activities so they are quite hardy. However, backrish is harder than freshwater and personally (cause I haven't tried either backrish or saltwater) I think it's easier than saltwater aquarium.
