ok i just bought my new Tetraodon fluviatilis, right now he is in a little tank until i can get a bigger one for him. but i am wondering are there ANY tankmates that will go with him, i mean ANYTHING ! i will probably get a 10gallon for him, can i keep another one of them, or what else ?
and how hard is it to care for this little guy, i will feed him brine shrimp and he has a fake plant and a rock ! I have seen that he needs brackish water, the guy told me freshwater, but whatever, i saw that i should add 203 tablespoons of some kind of salt to make it brackish? is that all i do, jsut add the salt and im done? haha sorry i just dont get it !

first off, you shouldnt have bought the fish before proporly researching...
second, it's going to need at least a 30 gallon tank. a ten gallon will never be enough for a gsp. and it should either be kept alone, or with something like bumblebee gobies that it wont mess with. gsp dont really tolerate their own kind, so let him stay by himself. as for salinity, you need to buy a hydrometer. then you can actually measure the salinity instead of guessing.

GSPs will tolerate their own kind, Ive seen several together in a few thanks, will all kinds of fish, but nothing that will work with it in a 30 let alone a 10g.......
It;s better to cry takin it back bsmith then cry when it dies for lack of propper care.... |

OOps, cute that short,
If you really really want to get a puffer, take that one back, come home a research dwarf puffers, they can live in a 10g and I do think are plain freshwater fish. |
