I've been noticing a fine layer of salt on my car...I'm about 1/2 mile from the ocean. Should I be testing my water for salinity, or should it not be enough to worry about?

As long as your tank is well covered, it should be fine... The salt covering your car has to be from spray, not from salt dissolved in the air.
That's just an educated guess, though, so it never hurts to make sure... -Flynn |
