Green Spotted Puffers

I have three Green Spotted Puffers in my 55 Gallon tank. I just got them about 10 days ago. The lady at the store said if they expand they are likely to die from the stress.

One of the fish has been expanding once or twice per day and seems to be doing fine. Is the lady at the store right?

Any help is welcome.

No. Unless he puffs up with air instead of water. Then you would need to burp him to try to save him.

you may want to figure out what is making him puff up though. Usually they only puff up when they are aggitated so something could be stressing him out.

Or attention getting. I've heard that mostly with SW puffers, though.

Is he actually "puffing up" or getting fat from eating?

I don't think he's getting fat. The inflating comes and goes and his tail is in the submissive position. My Red Tail Black Shark and Bala Shark are bigger but they don't mess with the puffers. I don't see then hassling each other either (the puffers).

puffers look puffed after a good meal, they have no rib cage and their stomach is free to expand. Very few puffers ever "puff" for real, except fahakas who do it normaly to get attention. Your GSP is most likely just a glutton

Stress? Does that include being in FW with fish it probably isn't the best with?

The LPS told me that if I added 1 TSP of salt per gallon my Puffers would be happy and the other fish would be more healthy as well. Truth?

I answered this one in your other post. But I will explain again, the kind of salt you are using is not the kind of salt they need. They need marine salt, and to a concentration your other fish can't handle. Do this, OR they will decline in health fairly quickly, or they will develop kidney failure and die in 6 or so months.
