Question Green Spotted Puffers Questions

Hi all! This is my first time posting as I just joined, so I hope this is in the right place. I have a few questions about my fishes. Ive got 3 GSP's about 2-2 1/2 inches long in my 55 gallon tank. Right now its at SG 1.014, and yes I am using marine salt. Originally they were in freshwater, so I have been slowly acclimating them to the higher salinity. Thier fins have now finally all healed and are looking normal, and they are quite happy. My question though is this. Does the salinity need to be higher at this point or is this about right? How quickly do I need to increase the salinity if it needs to go up? How soon if ever could I add live rock? The reason I ask is that Id like to get some of the bristle worms in there to help with keeping it clean and sifting the sand a bit. I love my little guys but they are messy piggies. When I had my saltwater tank they seemed to do a great job with it, so I was hoping to be able to do the same here. Ive not really seen much reference to this, so i wanted to clarify that before I plan too much. Anyways, thanks for your help.

Well that depends on how large they are, and if you want them to go full marine yet. They can deal with it just fine, but it really isn't needed until they reach adult hood. At present you are at the high end of brackish adding any more salt is going to start to move your tank over to marine as far as the SG goes.

If that is the ultimate goal here you should only increase it by about .05 over the course of about 3 weeks to a month until you hit the full marine mark. If memory servs me correctly this is in the ball park of 1.21-1.25.

Also you should note that at full grown (6 inches) you most likely will not be able to keep more than 1 in the tank, let alone any other type of fish.
