All I know for sure is there from the target group, I have looked up a bunch of target puffers last night and there area a few that my puffers can be,, Will I kill them if there not brackish? there still blackish, there water is ok, i tested it again last night ph is 7.2 ammonia is 0 nitrite is 0 and nitrate is 5. temp is 78-80F.<i think thats ok >i have one of them posted in my local freecycle, and i hate to give out the wrong info on them,i wish i knew 100% what target they where. there are a few with a main spot on the back of there body.
Tetraodon
turgidus
and
Tetraodon
cochinchinensis from the
puffer list and then they also look like Tetraodon abei from fishbase.

Cant say I know much about puffers but I do have some tips about other stuff. First use aquarium salt. And secondly dont add all the salt at once... add it over the course of a week or so.

WEll, i'm not an expert on puffers, have only kept three species myself, but to me they look like tetraodon cochinchinensis, and it's a freshwater species. SO don't make your tank brackish. Also the aquarium salt thing is ridiculous (not trying to sound rude lol). The only salt that really makes it brackish is marine salt at about 1.008 or above for puffers, but this being a freshwater type, does not need it.

Hi m8
I have a brackish set up and use marine salt. Be careful as freshwater puffers will not do well in salt water, but there are many puffers that are brackish.
The best brackish I have at the moment are my shark cats , they are very active and spend all the time together

good luck if you do change over to brackish!!

Always

well, i dont have the same species of puffers as you do,but from my research i have learned that if you are going to change the enviorment of you puffers you have to do it very slowly, for they are very sensitive little guys, but if they seem to be ok you should be fine
