Well I have learned from my LFS that even though you do not need a protien skimmer, equipment is still very expensive and so are fish. I just am saying that it is expensive to keep a salt water tank unfortunatlly not very familiar with fish because I am a nano reef kind of guy. Personally I would choose to keep tangs along with inverts and mushrooms but you might rather a fish only tank, I don't know.

Well, if this is your first time with saltwater, then the difficulty in breeding probably won't be an issue for you. You'll see what I mean.

Dottybacks & Basslets would fit the bill quite nicely, though, as would Cardinalfish and smaller species of Clownfish.

The best advice I can give you is to read a bunch of books before you get started, such as:

The Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Robert Fenner
The New Marine Aquarium by Mike Paletta
Invertebrates by Anthony Calfo & Bob Fenner
Clownfishes by Joyce Wilkerson
Beginner to Breeder by Martin Moe
Breeding the Orchid Dottyback by Martin Moe

The first three will teach you all you need to know about setting up & running a tank and keeping the fish, and the next three will teach you how to breed them.
