Upside down Catfish

I have an upside down catfish and was wondering if they tend to swim very much? I don't see mine swim much as it usually likes to hang out by where my filter sucks water from.

Do you just have 1? They are shoaling, so like to have a group. I believe they are nocturnal, so may only come out in the dark, but by having a group (5-6), it may encourage it to come out more often.
